Hi! My name is Dale I'm a newbie here, from Alabama. I have a 1985 s-10 that I play around with, its a 2.8L and I'm currently fitting a t-3 Garrett to it. I plan on swapping the engine from a 95 camaro I have with a 3.4 into it later on and seeing just what I can really do with these engines.
Anyways, my question is this: My truck has the factory Izuzu 4-speed manual trans. I've looked all over the internet till I'm about ready to pull my hair out!!! I need to find the gear ratios for this trans and also the ratios of a t-5 5speed from a 86 or 88 s-10 (can't remember which it was). Also I'm planning on putting the t-5 (which is a world class T-5!!) behind the 3.4 later. My current trans uses a speedo gear whereas the T-5 uses an electric speedo. I've thought about possibly getting the newer gauge cluster that will hook to it but I'd rather use an autometer speedo if possible. Not familiar with their speedos, the type of racing I normally do doesn't require or need a speedo. So if anyone is familiar with autometer speedos how do they hook up?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Plan on getting some pics of my truck up soon. Its paint is falliong off right now, figured I'd paint when I'm done with everything else. Its got a custom built dual ram-air scoop hood, a custom remote shifter and lots of other junk I've had laying around from all the years of racing dirt ovals and 1/8 mile drags!!! This truck is a play toy that my wife affectionately calls the "Lab-Rat" LOL!!! Thanks guys look forward to using this site regularly!!
