replaced the ignition module....still hasent fixed the shaking. what else could be causing it? im not familiar with these motors let alone fuel injection. my real toy i mess with has a gen 1 sbc with a carb.

i have replaced the sparkplugs, wires, all 3 coil packs, and the ignition module. all is about 2 weeks old or less. other then that the only work ive done is i had replaced the heads on the car, but they were cracked when i bought it from the previous owner, who i know however shes not very bright(is a blonde) and probably wouldnt have noticed any issues considering she didnt know the car was overheating.

sorry, didn't realize you already posted that.

Odd though, all cases of the OD stutter that I remember reading about were due to ignition problems. Acceleration being smooth throws me for a loop as to what else it could be.

Not sure on the unplugged red connector, I'm not familiar with the wiring on the newer cars.

As said, there's a possibility it could be fuel related.. maybe a clogged filter or a dying pump or injector. I'm still leaning away from any sort of lock-up problem, though having the TCC solenoid go bad isn't exactly unheard of.

I'd try fuel filter, if it hasn't been done recently, then maybe checking fuel pressure. Should be able to rent a tester at Autozone, I don't know for sure if they have them though.

Despite what Sharkey said, when my 91 did it, it was for sure a TCC solenoid in the transmission. Next time it does it, without letting off the gas, tap the brakes so the brake lights come on and see if it stops. If it does, then the TCC solenoid is at fault. Reason being, you leave the load on the engine by keeping on the gas, but when you push on the brakes, the ECM disengages the TCC.

I would ohm out the injectors... Could also be a failing O2.

pocketrocket, i had tried what you said and when i tapped the brake pedal while on the gas it stopped, but it almost seems like its shifting back down sometimes when i do that? it would stop for a second or two and when i let my foot off the brake it would shake again. so would it be the tcc soleniod then? and also is this external or internal? i have no experience with auto transmissions at all ive only dealt with manuals. also wheres it located? thanks.

Yes, that would be the solenoid. It is sort of internal. It is under the big side cover on the 4T60-E. The cover won't come off with the tranny still in the car due to the size of the junk under it. Also, it felt like it was shifting back down because it was disengaging lockup. Lorenzo (gpse3400) can give you more insight on what to do with this trans, as my only experience with them is blowing them up, and swapping a 5 speed in place of one.

i have to pull the trans to do this since it cant be accessed while in the car? that blows....id rather put a 5speed in its place if it had to come out but itd be tough finding one of those.
