  • Transgo 4t60e shift kit

    For those that installed one:
    I started working on mine and I wanted to double check to make sure I got this particular part right.
    Pic 1 is a picture of the instruction sheet with the parts that came in the kit in the row under it. The row under that is what came in the valve body stock. (that snap ring actually should be with the transgo stuff)

    Pic 2 is a close up of the parts that came in the kit (on top) and parts from the valve body (on the bottom).

    There is actually one more spring to the stock setup in the valve body and it would look like pic 3.

    So, all I have to do is intall that top row with the new ISO valve and bushing touching? That spring is the white one since I don't have a woven carbon lined torque converter.

    I got a pm from someone on another site who has installed more than a few of these kits. He said just install the parts as I have it pictured.
    Hopefully this thread can be used as a reference later on.

      seems right to me, too. i did the same kit in my 96 probably a year ago. mine had the carbon convertor and larger tcc apply valve

            i didnt really notice a difference. its more of a cure kit. being an e-trans, i didnt expect much out of it. now, maybe if your car had shifting problems, it might be noticeable.
            basically (just using a couple brands), there's three levels of shift kits (going from mild to "wild"): transgo jr. (that one), transgo/mr. shift, superior. then, of course, theres manual valve bodies
