  • 3 speed to 4 speed conversion

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with 3 speed to 4 speed transaxle swaps. My 90 Lumina with a 3.1 and a 90 Buick Century (3.3) both had an option for the 4 speed (for V6 only) but was told by a junkyard that it was not possible. I dont uderstand why, other than maybe the computer has something to do with it. Can someone explain what will be involved with this?
    Thanks.

The '90s were hydraulically controlled. I don't think it'll be much of an issue. You'll need the four speed transmission mounts, TV cable, shift linkage, and probably VSS. Different axles are likely in order as well, since there's a definite difference in size between a TH125 and a 440T4.
