Where can I find a differential shim tool for a getrag 282? I didnt bother checking it when I rebuilt my v6 getrag but thats because I wasnt swapping bellhousings. Does anyone else check it?

you dont actualy need the jm tools for doing it. what i do is grab an old bearing race and grind the outside down till it slides into the case by hand. with the diff in the case and the modded bearing race, put the bellhousing on and tighten it up with 4 bolts. now push the bearing race firmly against the bearing and measure the gap with feeler gauges. once you are satisfied with the meansurment, add .004" to it for preload and there is your shim size.
