  • TH125 shift kit

Has anyone installed one of these kits? If so, how hard was it and did it make a noticeable difference in the performance of the trans? It just seems that since they are so cheap, that they wouldn't make a big difference. I was looking at the TransGo kit since they seem to be a reputable company, but are there any other brands that are better?

    Thanks,

If you've never pulled a valve body off of an automatic transmission, it might be a daunting task. I installed the TransGo on my Beretta and managed to some how screw up reverse. The hardest part for me was removing and reinstalling the valve body. The check balls are a PITA. Make sure you use to grease to hold them in their place. Other than that, just make sure everything is clean and the valves are in the same position as before you removed them. As far as performance, the shifts were firmed up a bit but that's about it. If you have any of the problems that the kit corrects, I would definately install the kit.
