  • 4T60-E burnouts

My 4T60-E in my 96 beretta 3100, blew the diff from doing a burnout. now why is this when my 93 has 189000 miles and its trani never gave out. I am getting another trani exactly the same that has 105000 miles and i was wondering if there is a cerain way to do burnouts or if i shouldnt do then at all, but at the raceway i am going to need to in order to heat up the tires. (I am going to use slicks) Any suggestions?

Best really if you don't do them at all. The trans fluid really doesn't have the kind of properties that regular gear oil has. One of the main reasons why they can withstand burnouts very much. Not that differentials really care much for burnouts regardless of what fluid you use. To rienforce the differential you can try a quasi LSD like PhantomGrip(somthing that I used) or there one out there from a company called EP I dont have experiacnce with those though. Ultmately a full LSD with clutch plates gears etc is the best but hey you do what you can right?

EP (engeneered performance) makes 2 versions of the limiter slip for all gm fwd cars, street or street/race. they are both full clutch style limited slips and the only one id put in my car (all the others are just inserts, they can potentialy cause just as much damage).

yeah my insert ran for a year with no issues, running through nyc twice a week. It was worth the $200. I don't runn it any more as I don't have that car anymore.

And he has had mine since NOVEMBER for repairs... For some reason I'm feeling shafted here...

I Sent down my whole diff, and then went out and got a replacement set of spiders for it and pin, all he needed to do was machine them for the clutches and build it...

I also sent down a reverse cut 3.29 when he needed it, NO CHARGE!!!

WTF! I'm starting to think I was too nice.

Well I guess he's been backed up, He knew in the begining in wasnt in a big rush and then he said time just flew by, plus he said something like he was close to losing the shop too...

I did get a responce and I'm thinking he tried responding to my Fiberopitx.com address and the spam filter has been all F-ed up lately, I probably missed the e-mails he sent me.

He is finishing them up this week and shipping mine first.

Its good to because I really need a fluid change.

I would also stick with EP if I were you, Its the ONLY clutch style diff.
