ok which rotor style is best?

i have seen almost all the new gts gt cars have these new cresent style slots in the rotors.

and cross drilled and slotted were the rage.

so what is better? for braking and for rotor life(not warping)

    drilled only
slotted only (the std sweep back like the power slot ones)
    or drilled and slotted

i have heard that the drilled ans slotted are easyer to warp. and yes mine are warpped now.. but that was due to a blown wheel bearing.

    RE: rotor selection

Unless you are racing your car on a track, a plain rotor with performance pads is best. You won't gain any performance benefit from the slots or holes on the streets, so buying them is just a waste of money.

For racing use, its a different story. Slotted rotors can help keep the pads clean, at the expense of pad life. Drilling rotors is bad, as the holes will cause the rotor to crack under heavy use. The holes increase the surface area of the rotor, which can help heat dissipation to some degree, but this is generally more than offset by the reduced thermal mass of the rotor, which limits the amount of heat it can absorb in the first place, as well as the reduced surface area of the rotor. Rotors that have the holes cast into them, rather than drilled, are the only way to go if you must have holes. These are generally very expensive.
