This automotive blasphemy will be coming to a theater near you in The Fast and the Furious 3.

So far we have a beat up Rustang with some interesting wheels, kinda like an Eleanor clone:

A looksie around the backside reveals something out of place on a 40 year old Steed:

And a look under the hood to make the old-timers wince:

And another just to make sure you see the grille sans galloping pony, to prove that I'm not just piecing together random photos to make you all barf, but that someone actually put something like this together:

My only wish now is that the film goes straight to video.
I wish I still had my sixty degree.

i cant remember the company right now but theres one that makes an adapter for the rb26dett engine to bolt to a gm auto trans which would be quit strong and lighter than the v8.... now the can is a bit out of place but other than that... its not such a bad swap when you think about it

Isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse? What a horrible waste of a fastback, my heart is heavy with sorrow, someone please blow it up and put it out of it's misery. There is no way a fast and furious 3 is being made, is there?

^^ F&F3 is unfortunately coming to fruition...and with it will be a new wave of wanna-bes. Needless to say the person responsible for putting an RB26 into a musclecar will catch major flak from the automotive community...with the exception of the import scene.

The storyline is posted in the IMDB.com messageboard for "The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift".

SPOILERS (as if the story isn't already rotten) BELOW

A hotrodder kid gets into trouble at an LA school and is sent to live with his uncle at a Japanese military base. Kid gets into trouble with Japanese Yakuza and needs to pay off a million Yen debt. He decides to enter a race to win 1.5 million Yen and races with a friend's 350z.

He loses that race and needs to race again and needs a car.

Then there's an Obi-Wan Kenobi scene at a storage facility: "This is your father's Mustang, he wanted you to have it when you were ready."

They find out the 427 two barrel (???) doesn't seal, so they have to make do with locally available parts: a turbo Nissan motor.

The kid wins the race with the hybrid car, citing how balanced it is with the lighter japanese motor.

the movie is supposed to be all drifting, no real racing... apparently sliding sideways is the new way to go fast through a turn

once this movie comes out, the price of used RWD japanese cars is going to double, at least. kids will want to buy them all up and immitate what they see, just like how all the civics started getting fart tubes after the first one came out. if you want to make some cash, buy up a couple early 90's nissan 240sx's and store them until the movie comes out, then put them up for double what you paid

Civics/Integras/Eclipses/Talons/Neons had fart pipes long before TFTF.

im a fan of drifting and have been since before it first made it stateside.... i hate the F&F wannabes

the price of 240's has already shot through the roof in the past 3 years... cars that i would pay $500 for are getting 2g's

i have to say i do like imports, i know the engines and they are usually built way better than domestic engines hence a stock rb26dett block being able to take 1600hp and the stock 2jza80tt bottom end record hp number of over 900hp with the block taking far more

the new ecotec is gm finally starting to catch up to the japanese car makers... it can be preped to make 1200hp in race form which is pretty damn unbelieveable when you consider its still just a lil 4 banger with less displacement than our engines

I guess you never saw a dirt modified race, or sprint cars on the dirt? Been going sideways for years now.

but thats on dirt, entirely different than pavement... i've actually been a bit of a fan of sprint racing for quite a while, watch it on tv whenever i see it on speed channel... i'm sure pretty much every car will go through a turn on pavement alot faster when its not sideways

don't get me wrong, drifting is very fun, but its just overplayed like the whole JDM craze... to me it shouldn't be considered racing, but thats just my opinion

Agreed. Drifting does look like fun, but is it racing? Don't think so.

no... drifting isn't racing. you ask just about any drifter out there (aside from a complete dumbass) and he (or she) will tell you that flat out

drifting is controlling a slide, its more skill than anything

No its not racing. You get points based on style and ability. It's fun. I can do it in my truck any time I want. But I prefer to save rubber.

I think that Mustang is pretty unique. It would haul ass so whatever. Its just a Ford anyhow.

Well, on the top pic, I like the Scion. The looks like shit. My father says "fuck that". When the movie comes out I may go watch it. But only after I am completely drunk, stoned and generally FUBAR.
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
