I am well along the way towards swapping a '91 tdc into my '88 2.8 Fiero. I live in California and passing emissions tests is a big concern. I have realized that it would be a big advantage to me if I could run the TDC off the Fiero's ECM instead of having to install the TDC's ECM. Has anyone tried this?
What are the problems that I would run into? I do not mind getting a custom chip.
I was originally concerned about the ignition, but I have noticed that the interface between the Fiero's ECM and its distributor seems to be identical to the interface between the the TDC's ECM and its DIS. I have even considered retrofitting the DIS to the Fiero.
Your comments would be much appreciated.
