have a 95 grand prix with an automatic, every time I shift into drive I just want to drive it into a tree and buy a car with a manual. But I gotta keep the car because it was given to me when I was really down on my luck and it would be disrespectful to get rid of it. That being said, my motor has seen better days and the tranny has to. this is my first car with an automatic transmission and I am still not very used to it after 5 months. Now my luck is better now days and trust me the people that gave it to me would be happy to see me build it up, they owned the car for 6 years and it was one of the best, most reliable car they ever had.
So on to the question portion of my rambling
What is the easiest w-body to find a 3.4 and MTX in?
who does chips for these cars so that when I am done with the switch I dont have to look at that check engine light?
I need to find a whole car so I can perform the swap and get all the interior pieces, I am not worryed about fab work there is a nice machine shop here in town and I am working as a diesel mechanic so I have access to a good sized shop after hours.
Also I am planning on building up the engine so I dont really care if I am looking for cars that are just as old, or older, since the engine will get a complete rebuild anyways. Also I plan on redoing the interior on my car anyways so I dont even mind getting a car that has an ugly console or anything like that because I will just use it as a reference point for making new stuff.
I know I could get a different car and be just as happy, but I can fix this one up and noone will notice. I enjoy watching kiddies rev their little hondas and try and dump their clutch (bogging down thier engines) just in time for them to see my smoke and taillights, while they sit their and think that the ricey little body kitted car their mommy bought them just got beat by a family car.
