Hey guys,I'm back after three years of doing nothing on my project car! Some of you will remember this project,Brad,SappySE107,RacerX,Marty,and others.I resurrected this project briefly in 2009 but then the bottom fell out of the economy(no$$$$) and got put on the back burner.People have been on my a$$ to get this car going,so here we go!I will have lots of questions and pics coming so stay tuned!Brad you will get your adjustable push-rod back soon also!

Ordered a re-build kit for the engine last week, this week I will get the pistons and rings on order. If everything comes in I can start assembling in a week or so.Still need the cam shaft, lifters, rocker arms and such.Plan on painting the engine three different colors too.

Wow, welcome back! Been a long time, considering I think I sent you that adjustable pushrod back in 04. Glad to hear the project is still going though.

@ The_Raven,I'm using a 3.1 from a 1991 Corsica.I have some top-end parts I got from Brad,3100 heads that have been ported,3400 upper and lower intake and timing cover.Speaking of which I was looking the fuel rail I got from you Brad and noticed the wiring harness is nothing like the one on the 3.1???

No, it wouldn't be. The 3.1 is a MPFI and the 3x00s are SFI, so you have more wiring for the injectors.

Ok,so if I use the stock harness from the Corsica how would I make the fuel rail work?

Do you still have the old harness from the Corsica? If so, you should be able to just swap it over. Or just do some rewiring. I'm sure someone around here could say for sure.

You can just install the MPFI injector harness on the injectors and rail that was originally on the SFI engine.

My thoughts exactly! The MPFI harness has only 4 wires going into it,but is a bit shorter than the SFI fuel rail. So if anything, just lengthen some wires for the two injectors on the end.Does any body know of a stand alone harness for this engine?Painless performance is the big one on the internet,I called them, they don't have one for our engine and won't make one.I have the orignial harness but there is a lot of fat on there that I don't need and don't know where to start cutting!

Was at the parts store today, one of the counter guys is a hot rodder. He was trying to understand the difference between th2.8,3.1,3100 & 3400 He had some info on pistons, the "dish" on a 92' 3.1 piston measures .260 deep x 3.000" across. 96'-97' 3100 is .260 deep x 2.865,2000 3100 measures .270 deep x 2.750 across.Obviously, the smaller the "dish" the higher the compression ratio.
