  • Camshaft ?

Ok..I have a 93 3.1 block, I want to use a performance cam that will work in the 2.8 that was in my Fiero..Im putting the Iron heads and proper pistons in as well..The timing gear from the 3.1 is a single center bolt cam..The performance cam has the same 3 bolt setup as the 2.8..Anyone done this swap before? When I put the 2.8 cam in the 3.1 block, it has a little bit of end play, meaning I can push the cam about a 1/4 inch toward the rear of the engine, is this a problem..?

It should swap right over you just need to use the Fiero timing chain. Do not worry about the cam moving back. The timing sprocket is the thrust bearing for the cam.
