ICM 3 pin connector crank pick up wiring

I have seen the 3 pin connector for the ICM module wired A - C (with B as shield) and also as A - B with C as shield.

Anyone know when each is used?

Most don't have shields and are wired A - C. However, either configuration will work as B & C are both grounds.
