    HELLO guys i have a 1997 cavalier 4sp auto and trying to figure if any one has done a 3400 auto swap into a 3rd gen jbody ??

    yup, 97 is a bit more work as you need to change dash harness and fuel tank etc.

    3rd Gen Cavy has 3500 Installed!

      i read some of that write up but i think i can keep my oem gas tank. i also heard that maybe tranny bolts up to 3400 engine too

        Its the sending unit that needs changing, tank your good but i would go plastic if ya have urs out already.

        what engine in ur Cav ATM?

          i have the silly 2.2 ohv and yeah is a auto 4spd tranny

            2.2 trans WILL bolt directly to 3400 or any 60*V6, it is the 2.4 that is odd.
            As of April 2

                I can verify the 2.2 bolt pattern first hand. I never changed my engine stand setting between rebuilds on a 2.2 from a 2000 Sonoma and a 3400 from a 97 TranSport.

                  Because you have a 97, you need to change interior harness to a 2000+ and use Bcm,
                  then gauges will work perfect.
