I am currently putting a 3100 in my Fiero. The stock trans is the th125. I want to stay auto, but want a 4 speed. Instead of doing a 7730 swap and trying to get my tune correct and finding an older 4t40 and trying to get that to work, I am considering using a 2000+ Malibu trans and computer.
Does anyone know of any issues with this idea?
1. Were the mounts for the 4t40e any different than the older non-e 4t40? i would think not but I am not sure.
2. Would the same axles you'd use for the non-e 4t40 work?
3. Would the Malibu computer need traction control, ABS, or Passkey disabled somehow?
4. Any other issues that you can come up with?
