  • 3100 fiero swap

Ok I have an 86 Fiero 4spd with the 2.8L

I have a 95 grand prix that im gonna yank the 3100 sfi motor out of. But i have a lil problem..... What ecm can I use for this swap? (preferably an ecm that I dont have to change the harness, or one i just have to slightly modify). I was thinking of a 94-95 beretta v6 ecm with a manual tranny.

If any one knows please let me know the part number or let me know if they have done this swap.
I have noticed people stated using a 7730 ecm but will that work with a stick shift?

    thanks
    joe

The 7727/7730 will work much better with a manual than the 94-95 Beretta ECM, since after 93 (with the exception of the Sunbird and Lumina 3.1L), no GM V6 was offered with a 5-spd up until a couple years ago (2005/6?). And the fact the the 94/5 ECMs can not be tuned would be another reason to stay away from them as a possible candidate. 7727/7730 will control a manual just fine and are probably your best bet to do what you want.

does the old 3.1 have a different firing order then the 3100? if so the computer wont have a problem with that?

Same firing order for all 60V6s.
