I hope someone here can assist me with a problem I'm having. I swapped a 3.1 Liter engine from a 90 Cavalier Z24 into a 87 Cavalier Z24. It runs, but doesn't seem to run properly, especially at higher speeds, so I need advice. From the research I did, they are basically the same engine with a different cam, but the sensors are different. The 87 uses a MAF sensor while the 90 uses a MAP. I think this is the beginning of my issue, and I hope that someone can assist me with the conversion. Should I change the computer to match the engine, or is there an easy way to wire the sensors. Any advice? Please excuse me if this question has been asked before.
