  • 3900 ?? upper intake

ok i have a 1990's 3.1 odb1 style. compression = 225 psi per cyl. with 2.8 heads off a 89 gp. 70-80 oil psi with about 2000-3000 miles on it.

    I would like to run 2000+ 3400 heads, 2000+ 3400 lower intake manifold , 2006 3900 upper intake , 2006 3500 exhaust manifolds, 3500 stock cam.
I like this idea but not sure if the 3900 intake will fit the 3400 lower intake?
any input would be good im looking for parts this month (:.

The 3900/3500 VVT engines have even larger intake ports than any of the other engines and therefore their parts are not able to be mixed and matched with them. The cylinder head surfaces are also larger and although will bolt to the earlier engines will over hang the deck a little.

the 3500's roller cam won't work in the older block without alot of work, it's not that great of a cam anyways... lol

Yeah, just doing a top-end hybrid swap with 3400 parts would be your best bet. Get a hot cam, and custom push rods if needed. a 3500 lx9 non-vvt plenum would fit and make power.

        Everything else won't fit.
