ok is a 3.4 from one of the new equinox's compatible for a top end swap on a 3.1 because i have access to one that the bottem end is screwed and the top is still ok. i know the plenum is going the wrong way but any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't matter that the plenum is going the wrong way. The problem with the plenum is the extra 4 or so inches on the top, where the TB attaches. Unless you are installing it in a truck with a lot of hood clearance, it will not fit under the hood. But other than that, yeah its compatible.
