Well 3500 stuff is the latest and greatest. The swap is quite involved so make sure you are aware of what you are getting into. The gains will be worth it.

I need to get one of the f-body guys that is currently in the middle of this swap to do a writeup when they get finished. This seems to be a hot topic recently.

Umm... That 3500 is saying that the truck is a 3500 series, ie a 1-ton truck. You even listed that it is a 5.7L V8 engine!

The 3500 being discussed here is a 3.5L V6 engine, that is found in cars (starting in 2004 with the Malibu) and minivans.

Actually that's probably the throttle cable he needs, lol.

                JK. It's actually a '95GM truck cable.

CDog, hang with us for a while and read. Most of the info you need has been posted here, just use the search fuction.

Your biggest hangup will be the modifying of some stock parts to make work and the non-tunable OBD1.5 ECM.

                      Nope.
You need a top end from a 2004-2005 Chevy Malibu 3.5l. The top ends aren't easy to come by for cheap. Expect to pay $300-500 for a good used set.

You need the 3500 heads and LIM, but the 3500 UIM won't fit under the cowl. A 3400 UIM will work, though.
