Swap 89s10 for 85 jeep cherokee

I have a 85 cherokee with a bad engine any problems using a engine for a 89 s10 both or 2.8 . I see know reason why it would not work but have learned its best to ask first.

An 85 engine would be an external balance engine while the 89 engine is an internal balance engine. You will need to use a neutral balance flywheel/flexplate for the 89 engine. That is pretty much the only issue. Transfer over all your 85 parts to the 89 block and you will be ready to go.
