I got HPT and I scanned my car and it scanned as a 97 monte but its got a 96 computer in it. So how do I turn the computer to a 97? Also how do I turn the computer from an AUTO to a MANUAL. I am doing a 5 speed swap soon and need to know what to change in the tuning software.

if i remember correctly the 96 PCM was unique in that its not really tunable. but just grab a 97 PCM and it should work... -
96 is vary tunable with a dhp tunner. The hpt doesn't support 96's it says on the site for any thing. So if you scaned it with the hpt it prob would say 97. Question is can you download the 96 bin from the comp. Edit it and send it back.
