  • OBD II DLC swap

Hey guys, Shane and I have been working on my car trying to get the wiring swap 100% plug and play. So everything is ready to install along with the DLC. The factory connector from the OBD 1.5 is two wires, orange and black. so what are the new wire from the OBD II go to, this is what I think, let me know if I am write.

    On the DLC,
    BLACKS-GROUNDS(2)
    PURPLE- J2 FROM C100 CONNECTOR(1)
    ORANGE- TO J4(1)-TAN ON OBDII
TAN-WHERE DOES THIS GO? 12V POWER??

    OBD 1.5 OBD II
J4- ORANGE(UART) - TAN(UART)--- Same thing? So orange on DLC is Tan on new DLC?

You are close, Orange is 12v power, the tan just goes to the ECM it also uses a UART style wire in addition to the Purple.

IIRC OBD1.5 was a ground and the tan only. At least on my car it was. There was no 12v power there.

    Back of DLC connector.

Yeah on my OBD1.5 it's ground top wire, and then the UART wire right below it. I have the OBD1 style connector still. Some vehicles that were OBD1.5 got the OBD2 connector though.
