  • OBD1 ECM Interchange

    this should help out some people, and if you see anything incorrect or want something added, let me know.

    EDIT: newest version updated on 10/04/2009. added Misc info.

      whatever the upgraded '7730 ECM's number is, some 94 3.1 Cavaliers got it.
      Past Builds;
      1991 Z24, 3500/5 Spd. 275WHP/259WTQ 13.07@108 MPH
      1989 Camaro RS, ITB-3500/700R4. 263WHP/263WTQ 13.52@99.2 MPH

        thats what i thought, but what i have downloaded of the GM ECM site listed it as a different number, i'm just assuming its the same ECM with a different P/N.

        same situation as above...

        if someone can get me the exact number used, then i'll add it in.

        but they are interchangeable, thats the biggest thing.

          The '7730 ECM is now 88999196, According to Delco, and the 94 Cavaliers got ECM number 88999192. The last number is still the current number for the ECM for a 94.

            i hate to go all wikipedia/english class on you, but source? rockauto?

              It's ok, I don't mind. My source for the part numbers was/is FMP (Factory Motor Parts). Around here they supply auto dealers and independent shops with parts, and I happen to have an account with them through my work. They are usally cheaper than gmpartsdirect.
