Is there a place to adjust to get rid of hessitation from going to a bigger tb? Or at least help it some. a1 xdf

  • #2
Strange, on my OBD1.5 going to a bigger TB took away my hesitation. (52 - 65mm).

But yes you can tune that out. A1 is the choice for tuning N/A on OBD1. I'm sure some guru's will chime in.

work on the "AE Async Pulse Multiplier Vs. Delta TPS" table.. that should take care of it.

I've added .20 up to about 20% tps, should I go all the way to 100% tps?

i've added .30 and subtracted .30 without making any difference. though, when i subtracted, i started getting bad hesitation. i made a small positive adjustment in the AE Sync pulse multiplier. seems there is a little better cruising throttle response. it's only if you tap the throttle quickly you get that hesitation right?

yes it was when you tap it quickly but adding .20 to the ae AE Async Multiplier pretty much fixed it. Right now i'm having the problem while I drive it you can clutch it and it will be idleing at 2700 rpms you don't have to give it any gas to drive on level ground. It won't idle down untill the car comes to a complete stop and it drops down instantly any thoughts? I have both idle tables set the same at 850 rpm's.

That's your throttle follower. I think one of the stock settings is +20 IAC steps if you are moving, even with a closed throttle. That's what causes the rpms to stay high.
With a larger tb you could probably reduce most of your TF settings a bit and not see any losses.

Thanks, What would that be listed as in tuner pro rt? I'm using the a1 xdf and don't see anything saying throttle follower.

if you don't see it in your bin definitions, you can't adjust it, unless maybe you know the hex codes. you can add it if you know the location, multipliers, etc.

Well I just unhooked the IAC and it stil does it when I get to 2mph and when stopped it falls to about 900rpms like it would if I were to switch the key off. Would doing a idle learn help if so how do I do one?

idle relearn will help idle hunting or an idle that goes up and down. check your idle spark enable/disable speed thresholds. look at all of your iac step counts and adders for a/c on, fan 1 on etc. maybe post your bin and a datalog so we can sift through it.

Ok,I have found out what makes it idle high when your driving it and you let off the gas. I changed Min Speed For Idle (Upper Hyst) to 82.9 mph and changed the Min Speed For Idle ( Lower Hyst) also to 82.9 mph and now when you let off the gas it falls down to the set idle. But one catch its aggervating due to it will jerk when you do give it gas now. Does anyone know what it is and how to actually set the Upper and Lower Hyst. Also you'll have to down load the A1 xdf that that guy says is the full version to have it on it. Its list under the constants.

iirc they idle high while rolling so that if you let back out the clutch you don't kill the car. Mine idles at about 1500 or so while rolling and 1100 at a stop.
