  • 97 Z34 PCM tuning with DHP- success

This post is just a FYI and another confirmation that the DHP PowerTuner is out there and working on some LQ1's.

Today, I finished an offboard (sort of) so that I can program PCM's without them having to be in the car. I read the file from my 97 Z34 PCM successfully on both of my computers (personal and work) with PowerTuner 1.2 and 1.19F using Windows XP with a USB to serial converter and Windows 2000 with a true serial port. After I read the file to make sure that I had a valid stock copy, I uploaded a new PCM file with some changes. It took roughly 480 seconds to read the file and 60 seconds to do a partial write. My modifications to the file so far:

    changed to 4T65E-HD FDR (2.93)
    switched to 42.5 lb/hr injectors
changed to a GM 3 bar MAP sensor
removed all fuel based TM and edited some A/F ratio targets
    removed EGR error codes
removed second O2 sensor error codes (my car was a 95 and didn't have a second O2 sensor)

Right now, the car is in another state, but I have still been making progress with the PCM and development of the engine/tranny swap. This current file should be enough to start and run the engine/tranny combo once it's all put together.
