    ECM Swap?

    Hey all, I have an '87 Celebrity Eurosport VR and was wondering if I can swap the ECM with an ECM out of a '88 Grand Prix? Both are/were 2.8 MPFI's. The reason I'm thinking of this is because the G/P computer has the "updated" software. What all would be required to make this swap? If its plug and play, cool, if it takes a bunch of wire hacking, then no thanks.

    Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

    the GP uses a 1227727, while your eurosport VR (hot cars BTW) uses a 1227730. WAY different connectors, and you would gain just as much by swapping the MEMCAL from the GP into the VR. however, there are probably a few issues with that, mainly speedo and platform specific stuff.
    1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

      Thanks Robert and thanks for the compliment. Looks like I wont be messing with the computer then.
      If you want to see my VR, I've uploaded a few pics in my garage. Let me know what ya think.
