  • VSS high vs. low

I'm wiring my emissions stuff back in. EGR, evap canister, VSS. I pulled all the wires from my old harness to install in my Fuel Injection Specialties harness.

According to the FIS docs, their harness would normally only have the purple VSS lead (high), no yellow (low). My Trooper only has one yellow lead to the ECU.

What PPM are the purple and yellow VSS leads expecting? I haven't figured out what the PPM the VSS on my Trooper puts out yet.

    ECM service number?

Usually VSS high indicates the signal and VSS low indicates a ground for the VSS sensor.

In ECMs such as the 7730 and 7749, the magnetic VSS is generally a 17 PPR or 4000 PPM.

I looked at the docs again and I was wrong. The harness with emissions stuff would have had both purple and yellow.
