  • ECM wiring 1992 Olds 2.8 Need Some Help (newbee)

    I'm new to this site!
I installed a FWD 2.8 in my Suzuki LJ80 and have some questions about wiring!
or the lack of it !
1st Do I need the EGR? will it derate or go to limp-in
2nd Do I need the Power Steering sensor
3rd Do I need any of the automatic trans connections gear and speed sensors neutral start ?
4th AC is optional and ok not used ?

as work progresses I'm sure I will have more Questions

I'm trying to get the thing running with MINIMUM connections Simple/Stupid

The 2.8 wasn't used in 92. Is this a manual trans setup you have? Its best to turn the EGR off in the chip if you aren't going to use it, but you can run without it. Same with the power steering and AC. The auto trans connectors are not important if you have a manual trans.

I think the first question should be, what ECM are you using to run the engine? The engine could car less about the 4 things you were asking. Its the ECM that will care or not.

Did you use the ECM from the Olds or from the Suzuki? That at least would be a start...
