  • Getrag 284 trans for sale; c/w clutch, flywhl etc

hi; I have decided to go a different route with my project. I now have 3 (4, actually) Getrag 284's for sale. Three are still bolted to the engines I bought and was going to use as a package. Stored inside only for past 10 years. I haven't used any of them but they came from running cars (I was going to use the engine/trans complete, as-is).
Now going a different direction on swap, etc etc etc. Don't need these any more.
Will be complete with the clutch and flywheel if you want to pay the shipping on these - (weight penalty). Asking $600 for each trans; I will 'throw in' the clutch and flywheel etc at no extra cost if you buy the trans. Not splitting up at this time.
Located in Canada but am willing to see what is involved in taking it to a UPS store in Buffalo NY to ship. Will charge $35 to pack up on a skid, with strapping etc if shipping. Other shipping costs are at cost; no mark up. You will see or get the actual shipping invoice attached to the package.
I am not a business; just want to move these to someone who will use them. Can arrange delivery almost anywhere in Canada a bit easier... Contact me and we'll make arrangements.
Will send pix of the exact trans you will get prior to completing any sale.
Postal code here if you want to get your own estimate is L0S 1E0 (letter number letter number etc....)
    Best contact is at gwpotts5@gmail.com
    Thanks
    GP

Update. UPS shipping direct from here is beyond fantasy land... I have to wonder, at those rates, if anyone has EVERY actually shipped ANYthing that way? I was speechless.....
      So... what I am thinking now is;
I have two guys who have sent me notes from NY state. I 'might' be able to reasonably bring these across - one in the trunk I am thinking and one in the back seat and arrange to meet somewhere. I have brought stuff across myself both ways - legally - and it has been very reasonable. Using UPS or similar is not.
Or... meet someone on this side and they bring it back with them. One guy at least is about a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive away so that is not bad. I think should fit in most car trunks.
Again I have brought stuff to the US side and then shipped from a UPS store there and crossing the border was fine; one time they just said 'carry on'....!
Or some mix of the above. I am guessing a tranny is about 150 lbs and would wiggle into most car trunks.
Anyway if you are interested get in touch and we'll see what we can work out.

I had a t56 shipped from USA to Canada a year and a few months ago and it cost around $200 for shipping with FedEx. I did pay duty on top of that but that was just related to the cost of the trans.

I'm being encouraged to see what is involved in simply driving it across the border then shipping from there. Thing is, it is still big enough to be considered truck freight, so the price usually goes up.
          Hard to avoid....

Is any of those 284's still for sale with the clutch and flywheel? If so is there any way that you can have it shipped from Canada to Utah here in the US?
