  • SOLD! F40 g6 speed transmission

Getting rid of the last remnants of the beretta project now that she is gone, and now going rwd with a camaro instead so this has to go. Had it listed before, but no serious bites. I got this transmission off ebay a couple years ago and it has zero miles with factory dust plugs still installed. Also will include a low mileage clutch, flywheel, pressure plate setup off my g6 engine. Asking $450+shipping and I am pretty firm on that.
    98 camaro swapping in lz9 th400 setup
LZ9 specs: (Subject to Change work in progress)
4.0L(after bore 3.917 and stroke 3.3485),carrillo sbc rods(narrowed),wiseco custom forged pistons 8.5:1 CR, TCE Double Roller timing chain, gen 3 cam, P&P heads, headers 1 3/4 primaries into 3-1 collector, and going to run ms2.

It's going to be pretty tough moving it at that price because they can be had all day long in new condition for much less than that. Just thought I'd let you know to help you along a little. I'll pm you an offer for the flywheel and clutch setup just in case you're interested in parting with it.

The trans is in new condition with zero miles! Also just curious where you found them with a clutch setup?

The clutch setup is good but 1. it's pretty heavy, 40 lbs by my measurement 2. it's used and it's wise to start with a new clutch especially on a performance build up and considering the time and effort involved in having to replace one. V8 Archie makes an aluminum adaptor that bolts to the stock 60 deg flywheel for use with the F40 as an alternative.

It's a good deal in general but it's a tough market right now even with the clutch assembly is all I'm getting at. Asking any 60 deg engine less than 3.9L to spin that flywheel and clutch without a power adder is going to be a bit much. I intend to replace mine because I feel it's too heavy. I sold my extra before I took the time to make proper measurements to develop an alternative.

Post it in the Fiero Forum Mall, you will probably have much better luck their since that's the most popular swap for it.

ya kinda wanting to just sell it straight up so I can put the money towards my turbo 400 for the camaro project I am working on right now. gonna cost about $800 to do it right with a manual valve body. Then I need to buy a megasquirt to run the engine. Lastly need to get valvesprings, pushrods, and order a cam for the engine.

why go with megasquirt? with a 90-93 fwd mpfi wiring harness & such you can get a moates prom tuner for $85 at moates.net

No longer have the beretta. My current project car is a 98 camaro so its easier to just run the megasquirt for engine management and leave the stock pcm in for the speedometer and other non engine related functions.
