Under a hardened rocker? You put a washer under the nut on top of the ball. I don't have the engine anymore but it may still be running. I swapped engines and sold the motor with 180k i think on it. Setup must have had at least 30k on it but maybe 50k, I forget.Ben

I agree that it is a good idea, but most wrecking yards will let you have a box full of bolts/nuts for $5 or less, rocker studs included. I think we all do things in a pich that might be less desireable, although they work....
My y-pipe really isn't a y-pipe, it's more like a t with a strange bend on it. I cut the pipe at the y junction and capped it, then tapped into the other side of the y to go to my turbo. It's not ideal but it works, lol. The intention is always to "fix it later" and sometimes doesn't happen.

What thickness washer do you use? This will affect the lifter preload. Switching to the gen1 studs allows you to adjust the preload correctly, instead of just tightening it up with a washer and taking whatever you get.'99 Z-28 - Weekend Driver
