  • 3.4 Boost

Thought i'd move this thread here to keep topic. i have a 2000 3.4 from GA. Would it be better to find some forged pistons for the old dohc 3.4 to fit mine? And if I did, How could I lower the compression? Plan on using the garret gt35r turbo.

Cant prove it, but its true.

Personally ported the stock TB, upper and lower intakes, no cat, no resonator, flowmaster camaro muffler, yokohama's, cone filter.

What power levels are you trying to reach? With decent tuning, the stock pistons will hold up to a lot more power than most people think they will.

I wouldn't bother stock compression in the range of 9.5:1 for moderate boost levels either. There is a big benefit to turbo spool up from it as well as helping to maintain good gas mileage.

iirc, dohc pistons with aluminum heads ends up with 12.5:1 compression.
