  • Quick Turbo SIxe Question?

I have a 1995 GP with the 3100 v6 and found a really good deal on a T3/T4 TOE4 turbo. The specs are:

    3" inlet Diamenter /2"Outlet
    0.58 5 Bolt Standard Hotside
    0.63 A/R Cold
    0.57 Cimpressor wheel trim
    0.60 A/R Compressor
    0.63 A/R Turbine
    57 Trim
    Turbine Wheel: Exducer 2.48" / Mayor :2.89"
    Compressor Wheel : exducer :2.07" / Mayor 2.36"

Would that be a good size for the engine? Thanks for any help.

If this turbo was a great deal you found on ebay and is associated with the name XSPOWER or SSAUTOCHROME you may want to pass on that. Look for something more like a real Garrett 60-1 turbo, like something an intercooled Buick GN would use.

Those specs look WAY off. There should be two a/r's, two trims, and the compressor wheel is usually larger than the turbine wheel. If those are the specs the seller gave you, stay away- he has no business selling turbos. The 57 trim T04E compressor with a stage 3 T3 turbine in a larger a/r turbine housing would not be a bad match for the 3100 if that happened to be what he was trying to describe.
