Ouch, shaun!! IF you do your homework (and not bully a dork into doing it for you) you will find more than surface scratch. To help you on your way check these eBay auctions:
Item number: 280022168748 (IHI that will work REAL good on your car)
    Item number: 120025392090 (T3)
    Item number: 120025393622 (T3)
    Item number: 130020903301 (IHI)
    Item number: 220021776792

There are plenty more, just look.

Yea, my cougar had a T3 as well. Was a good turbo. I was bragging on the IHI because they can be had for cheap and come on early (the T3's come on around ~1500rpm, 600rpm higher than the IHI) and arent as likey to blow a motor when tuned properly. The IHI maxes out @ 15psi and the T3 pushes 25++psi STOCK (I know, I turned my T3 up that high and have heard of T3's pushing 30psi) which is way more than ness. to blow a 3x00. In this case IHI is more proper.

the thing is tho so what if it could push 25+psi but how efficent is it at that psi, thats the real thing u gotta look for.

i'd take a larger turbo and run 6psi compared to the 12+ on a smaller one and have less heat and push the same cfm if not more.

lag isn't always bad especially on a 660 n/a they have probs hooking up i'd like my boost to come in at 2500 and pull all the way to redline

          perfect for street
