Ok, so i bought a dirt cheap turbo, yes ebay. Thing is its a GarrettGT37VA .58ar/.92ar. Now, some already know its a VNT type turbo. I have a couple of ideas looming around in my skull about how to get this to work on the setup im working on (3400 with cam&top end goody's)...
1)Use a mechanical means of controlling the vanes with a wastegate type actuator and vacuum. This has been proven to work on several other setups but they usually have alot of problems more based on the fact that they're diesel.
2)Open the vanes to a desired position (like .82ar-wide open) and just hold it there, more or less "bypassing" the VNT. I'm actually shooting for turbo lag, like a noticeable amount, so i dont mind ditching the VNT. I understand the VNT totally defeats this goal, but for 60 bux...im not going to complain.
3).....F***K it get rid of it lol.
I didnt bother doing a search because as far as i know, this hasnt been tried on a 660 yet. Im really wanting to stay away from trying to use an electronic means of control since there are nothing but dead ends from what i can tell.
Im open to any ideas or if anyone has any info regarding this and kind of curious to know what others on the board might think.
