Turbo sticky to explain trims, terms, etc.... so we can have a good idea of how to find the right size blower. I ain't the person to write it, as I know how a turbo works, I can fix one, I can tune for one already assembled, but that about it.

sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.Tags: None

no true-someone wanting to push 20-30psi is going to need more than someone who wants to slap on a T25 & run 5-8psi, thats why we get loads of questions with people thinking they need all forged internals for a small amount of turbocharging when in reality other than the rod bolts, pistons, & tune-one could get away with a minor amount of turbocharging.
also with low comp not being a necessity, that might not be best to put that on there & instead explain dynamic compression & its relation to boost for those who dont know the difference (and there are many).
I.E. with minor to moderate turbocharging one may be fine with a set of hyper eutectic pistons, but if someone wants 300-400hp theyd be much better off getting a good set of forged pistons, either custom made or out of a TGP.
this would eliminate the need for all these threads asking what is the minimum needed if they want to go turbo but go light on the psi just for the bit of extra boost & the bragging right associated with forced induction. i know this because i used to be one of these "whats the minimum i can upgrade to run a few psi of boost without problems?" people-& was discouraged as hell when people would tell me i might as well drop a few grand into my motor just to push 5-6psi which is severely unnecessary.Last edited by no_doz; 10-03-2009, 01:40 PM.

lol yup-i just think it would be nice because i know first hand how long it can take to learn how to effectively search and once you do this site (for the most part) becomes a giant "how to" encyclopedia.
just slap a sticky on 'er & were good to go also hello 95sleeper-always nice to see another ohioan on here-are you enjoying the cold-as-shit-with-no-snow weather yet?

and sometimes, it almost feels like people NEED to search through everything, that way they know WHY they need to do certain things, and why others won't work...
but i can see it saving time and clarifying a lot of things.
i'll pitch in my share of effort if everyone else is up for it.

a lot of the things might actually be nice to put in the articles so people can refer to them, if anyones willing to write them. im up for it if anyone wants but im sure there are others who are much more knowledgeable (albeit if so they probably are too pressed for time) & may be of much more help.

i love to help out/educate, but if i don't know what people want, i can't do much for them. kind of like my "who needs an ADS" thread on the tunerpro forums. i've probably made a good 20 ADS files for other people just because i have nothing better to do. ATM i'm organizing and labeling EVERY BIN i can come across...
thats how bored i am...
