  • putting a sc on a tgp motor-how hard?

this is just out of curiousity but, if i have a tgp motor & i remove the turbo items & install a an m90 on it (by having my machinist buddy mod the CRAP outta the intake), besides cutting a damn hole in my hood, getting the proper sized belt/pulley, and redoing the underthehood exhaust, what else would need to be done? dont get me wrong, im not saying that im going to do this for sure, but im just REALLY curious as to how hard this would be to achieve.

First I'd ask why? If you really want to do something different, I can appreciate that, but staying turbo is definitely the easy way out if it's already set up. You'll need to plug the coolant passage in the block where the flow comes out for the turbo. You'll need a non-turbo coolant return line that runs across the top of the engine. Those are easy. You'll have to plug the oil feed line for the turbo. Probably put some sort of cap on the oil pan return. Also easy. You can use normal FWD 3.1 exhaust manifolds and cross over unless you plan on headers. Physically, the hardest part, by a lot will be mounting the M90.

You will need tuning, as the fuel added for a turbo is different than for SC.

I agree... Why go with an SC that you have to hack up the hood for, when a turbo can easily be located under the hood. If you are thinking that the turbo isn't big enough, just get a bigger turbo. Way easier than doing a hack job to try to place an M90 on top of the engine.
