  • Advice On Supercharging Stock 3.1

I Want To Supercharge My Stock 3.1 In My 96 Olds Ciera Sl.

Does Anyone Have Any Advice On What Brand Of Supercharger Would Be Best For This Application?

Who Would Be A Good Source For An Upgraded Chip For This Motor?

TTT, I am wondering the same...

I've been doing some reading... it seems like the 3800 series blower shouldn't be too hard to put on. My AC doesn't work so I don't mind loosing it.

Has anyone actually done this successfully?

    Thanks

finally, i know something that other people don't...

the blower for the 3800 motor is meant to be stuck on a 90* block, and you have a 60* block(2.8, 3.1, 3100, 3.4, 3400, 3500, 3900). it can be done and i've seen the manifold required on ebay but good luck finding one...i'd have done it a while ago to my 3100 if i could have found the manifold

There's been a bit of discussion about taking an M90 from a Thunderbird Supercoupe and using it in the spot where the A/C compressor is.

Using the M90+intake manifold from a 3800 on a 3x00, while functional, isn't asethetic. It'll sit so high up you'll have to cut a huge hole in your hood so it will close. This idea has been brought up here a lot.

Why does everyone insist on using the Eaton or 3800 S/C's, wouldn't a centrifical be easier to retrofit?

y does every one always think of putting it on top ot the intake. how about remote mount guys. do sum fabrication thats what im gonna do with my 3.1in my sunbird if i can find a way without tryin 2 sacrifice the a/c, and after i rebuild my short block, andif i get around 2 it. don't know if ur talkin gen 2 3.1L or the 3100 but hey why cut a ugly hole when u can just try 2 relocate it.

oh and to ur question forced firebird m90 r probley cheeper cuz u can by them used from a wrecker.
