Wheres the gm surplus engine link

Im looking for an engine for my buddy, and remberd seeing on here somewhere a thread about gm having a warehouse of engines they arent producing or using anymore or something along those lines. Its kinda a long shot but i need a 2.8l carbureated motor for a 88 s-10. thanks!

88 was not carbureted. It had TBI.

But I have never herd of what your talking about. But there are warehouses selling stock on E-bay. I once saw a 2.8L GM Crate engine go for $200. If you want to spend a little more you can get a 3.4L Crate motor.
