welding wire is like $1 a foot. Can't get much cheaper than that. I don't remember what I bought, but the cable is like 1/2" in diameter.

You don't *need* to run a negative wire, but it's recommended.
Okay now, that's enough of that.

for $43 summit racing sells the kit with cables and box.

advance carries 2 gauge in bulk. welding cable is probably the cheapest. i'd not do the junkyard cables/solder method, too much to go wrong.

The good thing about welding cable is that it is rated to withstand abrasion, welding sparks, oil, etc... Its perfect for use in an automotive environment...

I have 2 boxes of 2/0 welding cable. Its a little huge but would never suffer from voltage drop. It has a VERY high strand count too. Very flexible.

well..... My PA is a 0 gauge, and I know that a battery cable is thicker than that!!!!! Is a battery cable a 00 gauge?

                LOL

I know that the gauges are different. But the welding cable is a good idea

*remembers he has a princess auto catalog*

                  dang... 3.50 Cad a foot for 2/0 1248 strands
                  ..........1.89 Cad a foot for 2 625 strands

hmmmm.... maybe..... i ... should ... take the 2/0 get 20 feet, label it as 2 and say i only get 15 feet lmfao

that would be me saving $41.65 , for a total of $28.35
