So im at this very fun step in building my car up... its a 94 L-body. Ive got a generally idea of what and how im going to do this, but just wondering if theres any little tidbits anyone can feed me about putting in a proper roll cage. I cant exactly put a diagram of it on here, but its basically gonna be a rectangle over the two front seats, connected to another steel bar bolted between the 2 rear doors (which are welded shut)The bar between the doors is supported by one coming up from the floor in the middle. The bars in the front will follow the A-pillar down to the floor (had to put some holes in the dash to accomplish this) And then i diagonal will go across the pass. and drivers side doors. Top to bottom as it goes towards the front of the vehicle. I know that may be hard to picture, but any advice/ helpful hints would be appreciated here. Ive been looking at a few roll cages lately and getting ideas for the design. Cant overlook saftey when you like to drive in a "spirited" manner......

take it from me, i've tapped my head on a roll bar just driving cars around the paddock, IT WILL HURT, and if you're in an accident, it can will split your brain bucket clean open.

i had a beretta, trust me, it will be possible to make contact. Either way, you're not going to need a halo in the corsica anyway for drag racing, all its going to do for you is add weight, the simple roll bar with the down tubes is all you really need. It's safer for a street car, and still has plenty of roll over protection, and if put in right, will still give just about the same amount of rididity to the chassis.Last edited by RebelGT; 09-07-2006, 06:31 AM.
