  • Sometimes....You Wonder...

Hmmm, what can I buy today on E Bay?

March 9) A few weeks ago, Hemant Mehta posted an unusual item for sale on eBay: a chance to save his soul.

    Auction Oddities

DePaul University graduate student promised the winner that for each $10 of the final bid, he would attend an hour of church services. The 23-year-old Mr. Mehta is an atheist, but he says he suspected he had been missing out on something.

"Perhaps being around a group of people who will show me 'the way' could do what no one else has done before," Mr. Mehta wrote in his eBay sales pitch. "This is possibly the best chance anyone has of changing me."

Evangelists bid, eager to save a sinner. Atheists bid, hoping to keep Mr. Mehta in their fold. When the auction stopped on Feb. 3 after 41 bids, the buyer was Jim Henderson, a former evangelical minister from Seattle, whose $504 bid prevailed
Note: He did not sell his soul....In a way, he actually bought it, if that makes sense.

But what I really want to know, is who is cruising E Bay, looking for "Souls"?

Could this be the forrunner into a new cottage industry?

Hell, can I pay him to go to church for me, and interject on my behalf with God? 'Cos I think I'd like to cash out some indulgences.

hehehehe... Then we go all Douglas Adams, and have this guy's job replaced by a machine/computer.

Can I program my computer to pray for me, too?

Hmmm, apparently this isn't the first one to sell his soul on E Bay. I just did a google search, keyword: Sell Your Soul. Interesting. Apparently you can sell other peoples souls without their permission.

Whose soul would be worth the most? And what if someone has already sold that soul? Can you resell it? There is even a site that tells you how to sell your soul in pieces, Kinda like a Retirement Plan. 666K!!

I also wonder if God has internet? Think he has a fast connection? Pray through E Mail or IMs.

(If my Mother ever read this, whew!!)
