61/66 MPG just under 20K brand new

    thoughts.... opinions....

i think its time for the camaro to take a break from driving and i really want something with hella good gas milage, and this is the highest MPG vehicle in production

(yeah the camaro is having some issues as of yesterday, and i've been looking at getting another daily driver for a while (however i was hoping that the camaro would make it thru the school year))

its definetly unique looking... its got a cover over the rear wheel that reduces drag, its got the least drag coefficient of almost any car on the market... im really considering buying one

60mpg, that would probably save you like 50% on gas over the camaro. and when its 2.50 a gallon thats gonna be a difference.

you've probably checked the coils i guess, since they fire 2 cylinders it makes sense a bad one would cause a miss on 2. the insight is a good looking car i think, but its just a 2 seater isnt it? maybe the civic hybrid would be a better choice, if its cheaper. but i think it pulls under 60mpg.

Don't buy a hybrid. They are far to mechanically complex. You are looking for a shit load of maintenance costs. I would go with a Volkswagon TDI they get 50-60+ MPG and are only a deisel. As far as I have read, they actually get better mileage than the hybrids.

yeah the insight is a 2 seater, but the camaro hasnt had back seats for over 3 years, so im not really used to having a 4 + seater... not like the back seats were ever useful anyway

cool lyle, i'll check that out.. i do know a fair ammount more about deisels than i do hybrids.. so if something did come up i could be more likely to be able to take care of it

as for the camaro i would think its the coils, but the problem is really hit and miss.. if it were a coil wouldnt it just stop working completely.. .. i just hope i can get it messed up tonight and fix it tonight... i would like to take it back to school with me on sunday

Hmm.. That insight is pretty expensive for what you get... My Alero gets 37 on the highway and it was just a tick over 10K new

maybe you have an almost bad coil, but not quite ready to call it quits. i had some ignitin problems befor, icm was flaky for a week, and after i parked the car and went to start it up, no spark.

37 isnt bad , but 66 is a hell of a lot more

lol, yeah, sometimes the things i change end up being the problem. or part of it. i put a stupid set of neons on a car and when i set it down off the stands the "brake" light came on, and stayed on. i wanted to beat that stupid thing, i couldnt figure it out. i dont mod my ls1 just because of that, i know if i touch the car it will go all stupid. like it was designed to or something.
