  • I dont get it!

ive been switching back and forth between selling my car and keeping it. If i sell it i would get a dodge neon....Ive been looking around at some of the track times on this site and they all seem really low compared to turbo neons. But then in my car i thought why couldnt a cutlass be just as fast as a neon?? the only difference really is the weight.....could someone help me? i know this is a great engine and this is a 60degreev6 site, but how do they compare to building up a neon engine? Are the turbo 60degrees as fast?

your looking at a totaly differnt car. lighter, higher revving, more efficient motor in a small car. you can turbo your 60degree, you dont have to go nuts to make it faster, but if you want the fastest car, then your probably better off with something like the eclipse, wrx, or something else thats supposed to be fast. my goal is to eventually have my j-body as fast as my stock ls1, in street trim, fwd, with a 60degree motor, hopefully n/a.

What don't you get? The neon has a turbo on it and weighs less. Plus its newer and costs more. You can make any car fast with enough money or research and time.

im not talking about a new neon. I found one at a dealership near me for $2500 w/ 80,000 miles on it....im just trying to figure out if its really worth it to try and sell my car or keep it....

you found a turbo neon for 2500 with 80k on it. Must be aftermarket turbo then. You can turbo the cutlass and get power, but you aren't talking about braking and handling, which the W body fails on stock.

so maybe its a break even situation, depending on your car. that means all the stuff you get for the neon is the same money you spend on your current car. maybe with this car you get more for your money since most things would proabably need to be made by you, for less.

No challenge in making a car that has so many aftermarket "Bolt-Ons" fast. Keep the Cutty and tease your brain.

it may be faster but the last time I checked the Neon was a "chick car". It really sounds like you just want a fast car without the hassle of working it to make it faster. you got 3k to spend, besides being fast what else are you looking for? sedan?, coupe?

Hope you enjoy replacin head gaskets!

Seriously tho, sounds too effortless to go and buy the turbo neon .. Not a personal attack or nothing, but anyone can buy a light fast car .. I'd rather have a "sleeper" and spend the time and effort and get a better understanding of my motor.

Its a choice only you can decide, which do you like the looks of better? Have you test driven the Neon?
