  • Need help 4.3

I have just aquired a 1988 s-10 truck with auto an a 3400 engine with carb.. I wanting to build this truck for bracket racing only and I need help getting the correct performance parts and where to get them from. I have been told that some sm block chevy engine parts are interchangeable but don't have any idea or any list or any part numbers of what parts are intetchangeable. Could you or anybody give me a assistant in this area.

is it a 3400 or a 3.4 crate motor that comes with a carb stock? The 3400 is 1996 and newer with a roller cam. I have parts for either but need to make sure its the 3.4 replacement motor for the vehicles originally equipped with a 2.8 carb.

I had to check with the person which I got the truck from and he show me that he bought a Chevy 4.3/ 262 CI engine with blown head gasket, and a 2 speed power gluide tran.
