Got A Complaint With Ford Commercial

They are claiming "Change your oil"! You've seen the one, with dirty guy, Mike Rowe. Here is my complaint with the commercial. Obviously misleading. The engine they show is a DOHC, and the cam chains are stuffed with gunk. Now, I could understand gunk building up on rocker arms and such, but there is NO WAY it could hang on to spinning gears and chains.
Gimme a break here. What did they do? Turn a dead engine upside down for 2 years with STP? I smell fakery here. And I also smell BS. Maybe that is what is on the chain and gears. I've torn down many engines that are nasty, but no way near what they did here.

I've seen what Quakerstate does to your engine. It's not as bad as that engine, but it does coat it in a nice nasty layer of wax and sludge.

Added note: The "Mechanic" had no problem pulling the valve cover on such a neglected engine. It kinda fell off.

i like his shows too but he's in ford's pocket now.

an engine like that they would have had to beat the valve cover off with a hammer. can't show that on tv now can you.
