  • Planning paint job on 96 GP 3100 Turbo

This is a photoshop of what my paint job is going to look like.

A little choppy and I only have 1 small strip next to the larger racing strips. There will be pin strips down the outer edges of the racing strips. But it gives the general idea.

I was a pro painter for about 10 years. I painted everything under the sun except for cars and bridges. But the material is nothing new. I plan to spray with an HVLP. Proper sand, prep, ect. I'm going to 2-tone prime and sand with a large sand block to show surface defects easily. Several coats with wet sand in between. The finishing touch with high gloss clear coat.

It's going to be a beauty.

btw, the pic isn't my car. It's a random pic from the web. But it is same year and model, so it doesn't matter.

What do you guys think? Sharp or lame?

Image didn't show up for me so here is the photo link

That looks kinda neat, but you might want to remove that slow moving vehicle triangle floating above the roof

HAA! yeah. Didn't realize the irony. Hope its no bad omen

It was actually GIMP Editor for Linux I did it on. But was cool because I could outline the area and adjust colors freely. It's a good way to try a color or pattern before actually painting it.

I use to do stuff like that for high paying clients when I painted.

I also liked the same patterns but the white was stormy gray. But white on black won with the wife, i liked both.
