  • is a 3.2 sohc v6 (6vd1) a 60 degree engine?

just out of curiosity is the isuzu rodeo sohc (93-95) 3.2 v6 a 60 degree v6 and much different are the transmission bolt patterns?

GM doesn't produce a 3.2 SOHC V6 for the North American market.

i realize this, but what ive noticed is that the rwd sohc 3.2 trans bolt pattern is virtually identical (with starter placement) to most of the 60* fwds, being that the 3.2 is a large bore (3.7) & short stroke (3.0) 4 valve engine, theres a lot of potential there with portwork/headers/exhaust/tune. the fact that i wouldnt even have to change the location of my starter just thrills the shit outta me, but i gotta know if its a 60* engine first.

im very strongly thinking about getting a sohc rodeo engine, rebuilding it, putting an SC on it-& putting it in my lumina using the lumina electronics & ecu-if at all possible. from what i can tell its like a lq1 thats been short stroked & only has 1 ohc per head-with a good build & an sc i figure its one hell of a potent combo.

im sure me even considering this is porbably going to irk more than a couple of people on here but i never realized how much potential they put in those rodeos & the trans bolt pattern is 99% identical if not identical!

mhhmmmm soooo... hmm how to say this... this is like the 654234059234058940589th time youv come up with a NEW idea on what your going to do. why dont you just get an old maro or something of the like from the jy and build it? why go through the trouble of making a fwd car a rwd without using something like a big ass v8? just puzzles me.

NO Its not an LQ1 in any way at all. It is completely different and not at ALL related. Its not a GM motor or designed like one. It has 2 bolt patterns for the transmission, one being the GM metric pattern, because Isuzu used GM's 4L30E Transmission. It wont work with an LQ1 ECM and none of the sensors will plug in. None of the engine mounts are the same.

i actually would be swapping it in place of the 3.1 & i didnt figure it was related to the lq1, just that its a 4 valve aluminum v6 that can be gotten with the same trans bolt pattern. also, with the right tune & some wiring ingenuity it has a LOT of potential.
